Machrie, Isle of Arran

Machrie Bay, Isle of Arran

Although Machrie is a small village, it has much to offer the visitor. There is a 9 hole golf course, Tearoom, tennis court and putting green. Also, there are many walks  - (the coastal way passes through Machrie) - to be had, including 2 of the most popular ones on the Island - the Machrie moor standing stones and the King's caves. Or, you can just have a very pleasant time wandering along the shore. The Machrie moor road is ideal for cycling with a lot less traffic than the main road. The west coast road is a lovely flat strech of road for cycling. You can also fish on the Machrie water.

Brodick is only a 20 minute drive over the hill, while Blackwaterfoot with all it's attractions and services is a 10 minute drive South.
